ABOUT AMBER ZIERATH
I live in Canada near the Rocky Mountains surrounded by nature. Wildlife frequently roams through my yard and I love it.
My house is always busy with 3 kiddos, 2 cats and my daughter's horse (technically he lives a few minutes up the road).
I am obsessed with horses. As a member of an equine facility that is home to a herd of fifty, I care for and feed horses daily. Also, I assist with weekly lessons where beginners learn to ride. I ride an array of different horses frequently and always bareback.
I love stories of all forms: written word, music and song, film and television, theater, dance and art pieces.
I've been conjuring up stories for as long as I can remember. My father still has something I wrote when I was six-years-old. It is a single page about orange soda and quite riveting.
I'm totally hooked on black tea - especially when I'm writing or editing.
I'll read books from many different types of genres - I'm just keen to immerse myself into a good story.
I'm always asked who my favorite authors are - that's an impossible question for me to answer! There are far too many writers I admire.
I'm keen on traveling to as many different places as possible within my lifetime - there is so much to experience in this world.
I'm a member of the Alexandria Writers' Centre Society - an epic hub of writers sharing knowledge. I attend workshops on writing there as often as possible.
I write a monthly column for a publication called Chatter in the Woods. Each piece I contribute is fictitious and written from the point of view of an animal living in the Canadian wilderness.
